When I started learning the powerful benefits of essential oils, I knew I needed to find some roller recipes that would help improve my mood and ease some of the physical symptoms I had.
There are several great essential oil companies out there (and some not-so-great ones) but after a lot of research, I decided that Young Living Essential Oils was the right choice for me. I am so happy with this company because not only do they provide awesome and pure essential oils, but the resources and community I’ve found have helped me on this journey!
After I got my premium starter kit, I couldn’t wait to make my first rollers. Sure, I loved diffusing the oils, but I’d learned of the numerous benefits they had when you rolled them on your skin and I couldn’t wait to give it a try.
I’d learned of the powerful healing benefits of Frankincense and the calming benefits of Lavender. I also couldn’t wait to try Thieves for its immune support and Panaway for its pain relief.

So here are some of my favorite roller recipes from the Young Living Premium Starter Kit essential oils that I’ve found so far. As I continue to research the proven benefits of each oil, I will link to my posts that include research & information on each. But for now, here are the recipes!
Immune Support
This roller really helped me out a few weeks ago. My husband and I were both starting to get sick. Normally what happens in my household is my husband will have a sore throat for a day or two and I will end up sick with a fever and awful cold in bed for a week or more. And it never fails to turn into a sinus infection.
Well, not only did I want to avoid getting sicker, but a few weeks ago I had a few friends who had babies that I desperately wanted to visit! And I knew it wouldn’t be good if I was sick. So I knew it was time to try this immune support roller everyone was talking about.
I scoured the internet researching the oils and their benefits and different recipes and finally settled on one that I had confidence in.
At that point, I had a sore throat and was achey with chills. After two days of applying this roller (quite liberally) I was feeling completely better! And for the first time in my marriage, I felt better BEFORE my husband!
I am continuing to use this roller as cold and flu season rages around me and I’m hoping it will help ward off any future germs that want to take me down.
Here’s my Immune Support Roller Recipe:
10 Drops Thieves
10 Drops Frankincense
5 Drops Lemon
5 Drops Peppermint
Fill remainder of the bottle with carrier oil (I use grapeseed oil)
I applied this to my wrists, neck and/or feet several times a day! And one plus is that it actually smells great!
I hope this one helps you as much as it has helped me.
Muscle/Joint Pain Support
I have a lot of chronic pain in my muscles and in my joints. I have a connective tissue disorder called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome that affects so much of my health. Because of this, I experience awful neck pain and other joint pain as well.
I spend a lot of time in and out of physical therapy strengthening my muscles to support my joints and I was always lathering on the Biofreeze and popping Advil and Tylenol to help me get through the day.
With the amount of neck pain I experience, I honestly didn’t believe that anything “natural” would help me with my pain. That was until I tried this little blend and I’m ready to chuck the Biofreeze!
I was amazed that this roller blend not only felt amazing and helped me with my pain, but it also works to continue to heal and decrease muscle inflammation.
As soon as I tried it, I was hooked and I know so many who would agree. I hope that you’ll give it a try and see if it helps you kick the Biofreeze & pain pills to the curb.
Here’s my Muscle/Joint Pain Support Roller Recipe:
10 Drops Panaway
10 Drops Copaiba
(optional) 3-5 Drops Frankincense and/or Peppermint
Fill remainder of the bottle with carrier oil
This blend will take just a few minutes and then you will feel the cooling sensation that comes from the Wintergreen (and Peppermint if added). These oils are great for decreasing muscle inflammation and pain and I won’t leave my house without it now!
Anti-Anxiety Stress Relief Support
I deal with a lot of anxiety and have for many years. It comes and goes in intensity and it shifts what it focuses on, but bottom line is that my brain is just simply prone to anxiety. I’ve spent a lot of time in counseling and therapy and I’ve read lots of books and used lots of techniques.
(Disclaimer: This is where I say that I am not a mental health professional and I would encourage anyone struggling with anxiety to seek professional help in addition to using natural methods like essential oils to cope with anxiety)
I cannot say that essential oils have or ever will “cure” me of my anxiety, but I do think that they are a powerful and natural tool that can be used to help in addition to other strategies.
I have seen a noticeable difference in my anxiety levels when using essential oils and am so excited to share with you what helps!
Here’s my Anti-Anxiety Stress Relief Support Roller Recipe:
10-12 Drops Lavender
5-7 Drops Frankincense
(Optional) 5 Drops Stress Away
Fill remainder of the bottle with carrier oil
When I am feeling anxious, I roll this on my wrists or neck and I also diffuse the oils. I like to say that it leaves me with that feeling you get when you’re on vacation and have absolutely nothing at all to worry about the next day. Just total relaxation.
I do recommend trying to breathe deeply for a few minutes, especially when diffusing lavender and/or frankincense.
There are so many roller recipes that you can find and use, but when you’re getting started they can be overwhelming. These are just 3 of my favorite most life-changing roller recipes that have helped me in so many ways.

Yes! Love Young Living. The cough drops are also great and work wonders. They may seem pricey but I never have to PO more than one when my throat starts hurting. My husband, who would eat pop one after the other for like a week, also has found it effective. Thanks for sharing your recipes.
I haven’t yet tried the cough drops! I’ll have to give it a try because I go through SO many cough drops when I’m sick! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
I think I could use those first two roller balls. I am curious about essential oils, so I need to look into them more. My mom got a diffuser for Christmas with lavender though – she’s hoping it’ll help her sleep better.
Love how versatile essential oils are! Your recipe for joint pain is intriguing and I think I’ll give that one a try. Thanks for the great roller recipes.
So interesting. The only thing I use essential oils for at this point is my all purpose cleaner. I love the idea of the rollers!
Always nice to have new roller recipes to use. We use all three of these already and enjoy them.
I have wanted to purchase young living oils for so long!
I definitely need to look into this – I have heard wonderful things, and these rollers are such a fabulous idea.
Thanks so much for sharing these! I just got my roller bottles in the mail today and was looking for some new recipes to try!
